How many here still have their S9+ ?
I still have my gorgeous Purple S9+ I'm very happy with it still.
I still don't see a new one I like yet, no purple ones. So I'm gonna wait one more year.
I went with my wife when she got her new iPhone 12 Pro Max
Comparing phones, the S9+ smokes hers... takes better pics, display, etc.
My 6.2 screen is also bigger than the 12 Pro Max 6.1 screen too.
Plus far better looking phone.
I had an iPhone once and hated it, switched back to Samsung the next year.
In fact I made a post on it right here:

Nope, gonna wait one more year and it will be an high end Samsung!

You know what's funny! My wife's sister and friend both also have the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
They've been bragging it up, but refuse to look at mine... which is a better looking phone by far and even bigger screen.
They've been over the house many times since I got this phone and they still won't look at my phone. LOL
Reason I say this, when I had my first and only iPhone 8+ whenever they came over they would grab my phone and say their newer iPhone is much better, bla, bla, bla. I got real tired of that.
Ain't Jealousy a terrible thing!

i'm glad you are digging your s9+. i have a note 10+ that i'm digging very much as well. like you, i love my big screen. i like the seriess, but for me the s pen is why i love the note series. its a killer stylus and makes it very handy to quickly take down notes or reminders.

never touched an iphone and never will.....LOL

Yup still rocking my s9+. Still zips as fast as when it was new.

I've had a small crack in the screen for a year after dropping it on cement but the crack isn't growing... knock on wood.

I plan to keep it as long as it keeps getting security updates. I forget how long that is though...

yep i just dug out my note 4....been using it as my media player......still zippy as ever!!!!

The S7 I got was given to me a couple of years ago by a friend in the UK. It had broken front glass, that would have cost £130 to have it replaced in the UK. But here in China only cost equivalent of about £20 for the same repair. So was definitely worth me having it done, to keep around as an extra Android device.

My main phone is a Huawei Mate 10, that I bought 3 years ago, and it still serves me fine as my main smart-phone.

Hey Mike, I remember you well when I hung out on this forum a couple years ago, before I bought that "loser" iPhone!

Hi Jack, yeh I remember you well. :) Good to see you again. For my uses, an iPhone would actually be useless, with Apple not allowing VPNs on iOS devices in China(to comply with Chinese law).

I would think it would be the opposite for China as they make the iPhones there and Samsung is made in S. Korea.

Nothing comes close to the Note Series. Here's hoping Samsung doesn't discontinue it!

if the rumors are true about the note merging in with the fold series, i'll be ok with that. but i also read that they might do one more version before that happens. if the fold comes with the s pen, i might get it when the z fold 3 comes out next year.

I can live with that. I've been interested in the Fold series and so far the Z Fold2 looks pretty impressive.

I've been pretty happy with my purple S9+, it has been great and so far I'm not seeing one that looks as nice in purple or maroon. like you see in my pics. If it don't look like I want, (especially for a $1,000+ phone) I don't want it. Would you buy a car or boat in a color or design you don't want? I didn't think so. I'm not worried about performance as most all high end ones are great. Next year I'm planning to get a new one as long as they have a maroon or purple one. I'll be looking at the Note and fold ones as well. Meanwhile I'm very happy with my S9+
The attached pic shows my mint maroon Samsung Blackjack II that I still have and still works. I have all papers & box.

To me, this is the finest looking one they ever made. My sister in law and hubby have iPhones and begged me to give this one to them. NOT FOR SALE! They don't make them like this any more, mostly bland grey, silver, maybe blue etc. My purple one comes close.
I also like the Maroon Slll, the one on the left. I still have this also in mint shape, still works. One on the right is my wifes phone, the SlV was next after the Slll and the start of the bland colors.

Oh yes, camera is very important to me as I'm a wildlife/nature/mountain/lakes photographer. My state, WA Forest Service buys a lot of my photos... check out my website, and you'll know I'm serious:

Whoa loving the nostalgia there! I remember this was a pretty solid device, although around the time it was released I was still a Nokia user. With the S4 though, did you ever experience battery issues? I remember with mine I changed it multiple times yet the battery could barely hold a charge.

I don't recall that I did. Been a few years though. The only bad phone that I did not like was the iPhone 8+

Well, it's been over a year and I broke down finally and got a new Galaxy S21+ 5G as I wanted a bigger screen for GPS purposes. I was expecting more, but outside of the bigger screen, I liked my former S9+ better.

Some reasons:
1. Can't add more memory
2. S9+ is a better looking phone
3. Stuck with the finger print circle that shows (faintly) on all screens, messages, photos, home screen etc. This one really pisses me off and I'm told that ALL android phones have this. If I don't use a screen protector, it doesn't show... but I must have a screen protector on there. Since I make a living with wildlife/nature/landscapes etc customers can see that circle in the pic, almost ruins it.
4. No more LED light??? I depended on this blinking light that stayed on until I looked that the text mail. This is a biggie with me.
5, Having issues with my text message showing popups such as "Message saved as a draft" that won't go away while texting AND stays on even if I go to another page like home page, gallery etc. What the heck is this???

There is more, but I'm trying to iron out the bugs so far. I've only had this phone two days now and not liking it.

Okay, I've had the phone a couple weeks now and like it much better now that I've ironed out some of the bugs and getting use to it. I fixed #3 with a different Screen Protector: Invisible Shield / Glass fusion visionguard+ by ZAGG
Also fixed #5 Settings/Accessibility/Advanced settings/Time to take action -> Default which is a few seconds before the popup goes away. Problem solved. It was set on 2 minutes, but stayed on much longer than that, like 5-10 minutes.

This is a great looking phone, but still think the S9+ is a better looking phone, especially the way the screen wraps around the sides and the deeper purple color on the back. The blackjack II is the best looking one I've ever seen... it can be seen on my post... a few post above this one.

Well folks, I had a s9+ and it broke. The face and back came loose. I went to Samsung and ordered a S22 with the S9 as a trade. What a mistake. I got next to nothing for the trade and paid a fortune for the S22 which didn't have the features of the S9+. I ended up purchasing a used S9+ on eBay for way less than the S22 and sold the S22 for about 1/2 of what I paid for it. I'm now happy back with my S9+ and getting some of the money back for the S22.

FYI the S22 was about $600 with the trade in and I sold it for $282 so I got about 1/2 of the cost back. The used S9+ was $170 including tax and shipping.

Samsung is going to have to do a lot better with any new releases (S23?) to get me to move aways from the S9+.
