How much data does a single YouTube video use?

Hi all,

Anyone know how much data usage watching videos on youtube eats when viewing on a phone over mobile network (not wifi)? I know it depends on the quality and length etc, but Im looking for a ball park reference really, say a 1min video at 360p?

Thanks :)

7,5 MegaBytes.

I'd think it would also depend on how much detail is inside the film. For example a 1min video at 360p of a dog running would be less data than a 1min clip of a battle scene from Avatar.

Different youtube video will use different data.

It depends on:

1)how long the video is (10 min video will use more than a 2 min video)
2)the quality of the video: 360p, 720p or 1020p (1020p will use much more data than 360p)

Hi folks,

I appreciate its different for different sized videos, but like i said im just after a ball park figure based on a 1 min video at 360p.

:)

chanchan, appreciate what your saying, but im just talking about user uploads, so more likely to be that dog :) just looking for a rough figure, I wont be suing anyone :)
