Help How NOT to sync with gmail

Hello, just got my Samsung Intercept and so far love the phone. Everything has been great!

One thing I'm unable to figure out is how to make it so my phone does NOT sync with my google (gmail) account. I would like to have all of my contacts stored locally on my phone and not on google.

Has anyone figured this out?

Any help would be appreciated!

Menu > settings > accounts and sync

tap your default gmail account under manage accounts and de select sync contacts. Just remember to do a local backup from time as you won't have a google backup should you damage or loose your phone.
