Root How often can I restore a backup or flash another ROM?

Just started playing with the different ROMs, and flashed the Midnight ROM. And then I switched back to my original (Stock ROM) just to see the connection speed and Quadrant score differences. The first reboot after I restored my stock backup, the 3G data connection was crossed out. I rebooted it again and then it connected.

I have read that people keep flashing ROMs and got their devices flagged by VM. I am a little bit scared switching too frequently. Do anyone know whether it's an issue and how often is considered dangerous (of being flagged)?

Thanks!

none of this makes any sense to me. why would vm flag a device..? it is perfectly within your right to change the rom at any point in time, as much as you want.

You can flash/restore as many times as your heart desires. I do it daily. If I don't like the current ROM I go back to my nandroid back up.

VM is flagging them for flashing different phones (which is of questionable legality).

Vm doesn't like people rooting, and do what they can to discourage it, but they won't flag you for it. My Optimus V has been flashed several hundred times (seriously), sometimes 30+ times in a weekend, It runs great, don't worry, you're fine.

Thank you all, I flashed a lot of ROMs on my previous Motorola Triumph. Just that on my first restore of a backup on the EVO V, I got no mobile data after first reboot. That worried me a bit. But now I restored back to my Midnight backup and running great, thanks!

this might be really obvious so sorry if i am not helpful. but some of the roms have mobile network and data turned off after flashing, so you have to go to system settings/quick settings and enable it. maybe this is why it was not working?
