I'm trying to get an idea of battery life, in normal use (for you anyway) how often to you need to charge the battery on your Wildfire?

Hi Lumo, my phone usually gives me 3 days if i run it down to 3% battery!I am not a very heavy user but im on and of the internet most of the day and download a bit of music every other day. I also dont use wifi or the high speed internt connection just the standard set up and find it is just as good. When the red light flashes and tells me to charge i still get a full day from this as i just keep checking my battery level.

Thanks Heather. I got one of these phones at the weekend and by the end of the first full day (so and day and a half of being turned on) the low battery warning was coming on.

I was playing around a lot with it and setting it up, so probably more than normal usage. I had not idea what a normal battery life was for this phone, great phone but I will need to get used to charging it every few days rather than the once a week or so of my old mobile.

Yeah i wouldn't worry about the battery untill the red flashing light appears, think most folk get paranoid and think their phone is going to shut off so charge it a day or two to early!

It's good practice to charge every night. It's a Lithium-Ion cell, so it doesn't like deep discharges. In fact, "Top-off charging is recommended when voltage goes below 4.05 V/cell" (source: Wikipedia).

I changed the wireless setting so that it now automatically turns off the wireless after 20 mins of sleep and the battery lasts MUCH longer, maybe 3-4 days rather than 1-2.

I turned off both the background sync thing (I think that's what it's called :o) and also I keep the wifi off unless i need it. I also have the satellite thing off in the location thing in the internet (wow.. if anyone can understand this with all the 'thing's you are amazing ha :D) I noticed that this saved the battery. I use my phone as an iPod as well and surprisingly the battery does not get eaten by the music playing. :)

I charge mine everyday which is what I expected to do and is what I have been doing with pretty much all my phones that I have had. I text a lot, use the internet heaps and music use. I don't see what the big deal is about charging it every night... most people sleep of a night... so what's the problem with it charging?

How did you do that??
I normally get 2-3 days off a full charge but when i got to bed I plug it in for the night. I have the Wi-Fi on for about 4-5 hours a day and the mobile network on for about an hour each day, listen to music for about an hour, but i have the GPS and bluetooth off and the screen on auto brightness.
