How on earth do I silence my Moto X 2nd Gen?

Ever since I lollipoped my phone, its freakin' driving me crazy. Before ... using the volume buttons on the side you could go down to a silent setting before vibrate. Silent is now missing and vibrate is so loud it's like the phone is screaming at me every few seconds.

In digging around, it looks like pulling down from the curtain there used to be a silent mode you could click from there, but now that's gone.

I'm stumped. Within my "sounds and notifications" settings I don't see where this is happening. I checked my app notifications and Vibrate is not on.

I think Moto assist can now get it to shut up when I'm in meetings (I hope!), but when I'm not in meetings, I still want it quite while I'm at my desk. I can see it flash. It doesn't need to vibrate / scream too.

Clearly the equipment is smarter than I am. Oh, please, please, someone help me!

Do you have priority callers and alerts turned on? Either way try this - hit the volume key once to bring up the volume level on the screen. There should be "none" priority" and "all". Make sure you have "all" selected. It should be highlighted in white. Start there and maybe turn off the moto assist stuff for now till you get it worked out. Unfortunately the priority list is not part of Moto assist anymore its now part of "interruptions" in the sounds menu (Check those settings as well).

Press either of the volume buttons. Tap "None" from the choices. That stands for no interruptions (ringing or vibrating) for incoming messages and calls. The second selection for Priority means you can setup certain contacts to have Priority and still make the phone ring/vibrate.

You may not be so happy about discovering "None" after you find out that it also turns off the sound on your alarm clock.

Use that None and you just killed the alarm clock sound you need to wake you up when you go to sleep.

The Silent icon in Android KitKat remains invaluable for when you set your alarm clock and go to sleep.

Lollipop left it out when they substituted Interruptions.
It is for that reason alone that I refuse to upgrade to Lollipop.
