how specialised is rooting ?

is it easy to root ?

a gentleman will charge me $365 to root a sensation...this is a lot of my hard earned cash! should I accept his offer ? the thing is I think he is over charging me but he says if I root it I will loose my warranty but if he roots it I won't. is rooting easy ? I am so scared of biking the phone. should I accept or decline his offer ?

No way man! You can do it yourself probably. It isnt all that hard if you just follow the steps. Look in your phones specific forum on this site and it will probably give instructions on rooting your phone.
$365 for rooting a phone? That guy is trying to scam you bad. I would not pay someone $10 let alone $365.
Also if you root you lose your warranty period. He bullshitting you on the fact he can root your phone without killing the warranty.

Yeah, this is a big scam. It doesn't matter if you root it or he does, your warranty is void.

If you can follow direction you should be able to root your phone. Read the section for your phone on this forum and the XDA Forums. Also as lots of questions. I did this for about two months before I rooted my phone.

if you go to htc's website, you can have your phone rooted. very easy, just give them the necessary info about your phone... but they will mark you phone as warranty voided!

or
you can look over at XDA Developers forum and read the instructions. if you have a little confidence...and can follow instructions to the letter!!! you can root it yourself with out htc / carrier knowing.

technically rooting voids your warranty. but they have to know it is rooted.
if you have issues... just unroot it..and take it in for warranty.
if the phone is completely broken.. can not be stared up at all.. then how the hell would they know you are rooted? it would take a lot of work for them to dig in and find out. so you can still use the warranty.

Root it yourself. $365 is definitely too much to pay for it.

You just need to make sure you follow rooting directions very carefully, but if you can read and follow directions, you can easily root your phone for free.
