Kindle Help

I have a Kindle Fire HD ("7) and to protect some of my pictures that mean a lot to me, I stored them in an app disguised as a calculator.
I haven't used my Kindle since last year until now. I went to the app and forgot my pin number and the answer to the security question needed to change the pin. I saw that the app needed to be updated, and I allowed the update which made things worse.
What I found out was that to change the pin, I needed to dial a certain number in a phone dial pad which is obviously out of reach and that there is no longer option to answer a security question.
Ive tried accessing files through NUMEROUS file explorers and I still have no luck. I am desperate and runnin out of ideas.
What do I do now?

Not sure which app you are using, but it sounds like the pictures were encrypted in a special folder dedicated to that app. I can't vouch for it, but I'm willing to bet that if you uninstall the app, the folder and its contents would be deleted... something you definitely DON'T want to do. But even if your file explorer could find the folder, it wouldn't be able to read the encrypted contents. Without that PIN or a way to recover it, you're facing a serious uphill battle. The only thing I can think of is to contact the app developer to see if there is a Kindle-specific solution. Good luck.
