How to activate new phone with old number

I have a new phone and a new number through the metropcs number porting offer. How do I put my old metropcs number on the new phone? Both use an LTE micro sim card. Can I do it on the website and swap the sim cards? I know that the website has such a feature, I'm just wondering if it works. I don't need to keep the new number. The old number is still active.


Edit: OK, my old sim came from the lg Leon, and it won't work on the zmax pro, which is the micro sim.
