Root How to add a Power-on, Power-off sound to your phone.

Hi all, I just wanted to share something that was shared with me. It'll help add a personal touch to your phone if you would like. This TUT will tell you how to add a power-on and power-off sound. There is also a sound file that will go with the Transformer theme if you wish to use it. If not, just add any mp3 file you wish by following the instructions. .:D

OK people, this is something that's very easy to do. Just follow the instructions and

you'll end up with your favorite mp3 tune as your power-on or power-off sound.

1st.

Go to /system/media/audio on your phone and create a folder there called system.

2nd.

Rename the mp3 you want to use to PowerOn.mp3 and place it in /system/media/audio/system.

When you transfer the mp3 file to your phone, it will automatically add mp3 to the name of the file so keep that in mind.

***All you need to do is name the file ( PowerOn.) without the ( ). Once it's tranferred to your sd card, it should look like this- PowerOn.mp3

If it doesn't then you'll need to manually change it.****

you can also have a mp3 named PowerOff.mp3 for a shutdown sound.

If you want to use the Transformer sound file I have included in this zip, just move it to the folder thatyou created. You can use any mp3 as long as it isn't very long.

Remember, the file should say- PowerOn.mp3 not PowerOn.mp3.mp3.

Download zip file here which includes Transformer sound.:

What do I need to add for a screen lock sound

I'm not sure where the sound file needs to be added. Possibly the same file where this is added. I just don't know what to name it. Ask ChevanLOL360. I'm sure he would know where to add it.

The Skater would probably know too.

Ok guys. Under settings/ sounds, you have to enable screen lock sounds. After you have done that your stock sounds will work.

If you want to change them you have to convert your sound files to. ogg format then change the files out under system/media /audio/ui. That is where the majority of your system sounds are located.

Thanks to Bloodawn, Lordvincent90 and Chevanlol360 for your help.

Is there any way to increase the volume for poweron audio

Hmm, damn good question. As far as I know it would have to be done in the ROM itself. IF IT CAN EVEN BE DONE. :D

One thing you may want to check..... there are 1 or 2 apps on the market that actually increase the volume some. Now whether or not they will actually affect the boot up sound, couldn't tell you. One way to find out bro is to give it a try.

If you try, please let us know what you find out. Thanks.:)

I will search the play store and see what I can come up with .

Is there any way to increase the volume for poweron audio

There is a free audio editor called Audacity for Windows and Linux that I use for creating ringtones and sounds. once the file is loaded under Effects choose Amplify to increase the volume and then export the file to whatever type you want. Audacity supports alot of formats. For MP3 you will also have to install LAME the link is on the audacity homepage.
