How to add Google Play in 4.1.1

Hi,

I bought a tablet manufactured by HCL. Model is HCL ME G1. Unfortunately there is no google play in it which is very disappointing. I tried to install google play in it but everytime it gives error "Google Play stopped responding". Tablet is having 4.1.1 version.

Could you please help me how can I get google play on it? Would be grateful for it.

Having had a cheap tablet myself that did not support Google Play I can definitely understand your frustration. There probably isn't a way to get it on with it being workable. I tried doing several different things like installing gapps but always got errors with those as well. Bottom line is if the tablet doesn't support it then you probably won't find a solution. I ended up getting a Nexus 7 and haven't touched the other one since.

On the fb page of the brand i bought, they told the process and many ppl have done it succesfully. That is for 4.0 ICS. Mine is JB 4.1.1 thats y that process is not working.

You either have to find the apk file for Google Play Androud 4.1.1 or just download apps from third-party markets.

So these peeps are using Facebook for their support pages?! I believe HCL is just an importer of cheapo Chinese tablets, from unknown manufacturers. And these devices come with Googleless Chinese Android software. What they might have worked out for hacking Play into 4.0, may not work for 4.1. If HCL don't provide this information, you might be out of luck.

Im really out of luck...My mistake that I didnt check google play when I bought it. I thought it will be there just like a normal android.

I tried installing google play apk file but when I run it. t gives error.

Their own market does not have that good variety of apps. my bad luck

You can try downloading apps from other markets like Aptoide, 4shared or even just Google the app you wish to download.

Be careful of the sites you use to get apps from. Some of them are "Pirated" copies that have been modified to be "Free" yet they can contain harmful malware and make your device unstable. We never recommend going outside of developed markets such as Amazon, and Google.

I'd give these these places a very wide berth, as Argedion points out, as they're less than legitimate, there's no telling what you're installing.

ahmedalish, if the Play store doesn't work, what about Amazon App store? That should work no problem and is totally safe and legal.

there is the Amazon Appstore, GetJar, and side-loading (downloading the APK from some website and installing it that way) but you won't get the Play Store to work. installing the Play Store APK will just give you repeating force close errors. and unless there is a means to get ClockWorkMod Recovery on the thing somehow (not sure if it requires specific hardware) that is the only proper means to flash the gapps.zip file. i'll have to get one of my guinea pigs-erm, cheap tablets and see if the 'flash recovery img /sdcard/nameofmod.img' actually works.
