Help How to avoid endless restart

I had a LG Esteem. After less than 2 years, it restarted endlessly, and I could see the Metropcs logo reappearing many times. So I bought the LG Optimus L9. I noticed that now, there is the "LG backup" application already installed.
In case the same problem with my Esteem reappear on my L9, can I use LG Backup to restore the phone to working condition? If no, what should I do to restore the phone?
I believe that it's kind of scandalous that I paid $300 for a new phone and it works for less than 2 years. That's why I bought a cheaper phone now but I still want to be prepared in case the same scenario happens.

It will restore your phone to the way you had it customized and restore all your photos, music and ringtones and such also will restore apps and games and the games will be where you left off. I back up every time I add new stuff like a new contact in my address book or take new photo's. One should always back up computers, phones and tablets in case of malfunction. Mary
