Help How to avoid PIN when accessing voicemail

While serving time with AT&T, my voicemail could be configured to NOT require a PIN when it was being accessed by my dumb phone.

Does anyone know if there is an equivalent feature when accessing Verizon voicemail from my Incredible? My google-fu is weak, for I could not find such a feature.

Verizon voicemail requires pin but with a little adjustment to the phone number entry in your contacts list, you can make it automatically enter it for you. I believe the syntax is something like "XXX-XXX-XXXX ,, PIN#" where the X's are your phone number, the "," are pause triggers and the PIN is the PIN. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It would appear that both methods work since the voicemail on my phone is *86,,XXXX# where ",," are pauses and XXXX is the PIN. Good to know there is more than one way to do this.
