Help How to Backup ENTIRE phone

Forgive the naive question, BUT how do I perform a backup of my M8 - both internal and SD card contents? I cannot find instructions how to use Google Drive and WHAT it can do. Want to backup apps and their data as well as photos, etc.

Any and all help appreciated!! (Phone not rooted.)

Use the HTC SYNC manager program to back up your HTC M8 phone to your laptop.
