Help How to backup to Google

If i were to get a replacement, is there an easy way of switching all my junk over to the new phone or do I have to reinstall everything again?

If when you set up your phone, you selected backup to google, your apps will re-download - but you'll need to re-configure your homescreens and re-enter your Mail setups.

Is there any way to back up to Google if I didn't sign up for it when the phone was activated?

if you bought the handset 2 years ago and just TONIGHT you want to check the option to backup your data, it gets backed up right at the time of you turning the option on.

perhaps im missing your question?

my point is no matter when you check the box, thats when your data gets backed up. if you checked it today, it starts. if you swapped your phone tomorrow and you HAD checked the backup option, your data would be there for the replacement device tomorrow.

does my example make sense? does it answer your question?

Is android backing up on a regular basis, when new apps are added, or what? Is there a way to tell it to run, or a way for it not to run as often, assuming it IS running often? This whole backup thing is kind of vague.

This is sort of related.... I just accidentally (oops) un-linked all my my Facebook, Twitter, and Gmail from my Address Book. Is there anyway to re-link everything besides doing it manually one person at a time?

If I reset my phone, how do I back up all my apps?

As mentioned beginning in post 8, above -

Double check that you went the default route when setting up your phone by going to settings, Privacy and ensure that you're backing up to Google.

Once set, your apps will download automatically after the reset.

ArmyX - pretty sure that you have to go one by one there.

If this is already posted about the evo 3d, I'm sorry. I searched but didn't find what I was looking for.
A few days after I got my brand new Evo 3d it crashed. I did a hard reset and everything has been ok since then. I have finally placed all my apps and widgets in just the right places where I want them and where they work best for me.
How do I back up the apps and setting. My hope is that my phone doesn't ever crash again, but if it does and I need to get a new one or hard reset it again, I want to be able to restore the phone to just the way it is now with the apps back on the phone and the widgets and apps in place.
This forum is really great, I don't know anyone who has an Evo 3d and I am brand new to not only droids, but smart phones. Thanks for all the help!

I'm still a bit of an iphone user, Is there a way to backup everything to my phone, so lets say i had to do a factory reset. I could just then push everything back to my phone?
