How to bookmark on chrome

I just got my Samsung Galaxy S5 last week and so far so good. This will be the first help I need. Hopefully I want have to ask to much in the future:

I want/need to create bookmarks whether it's in the phones stock browser or Chrome, and I can't figure out either one.

First of all, I don't see an icon for the stock browser? There is no "globe" anywhere on the phone? From the home screen, is the white space that says Google, is that the stock browser, or is that pulling up chrome?

What have I got to do to bookmark favorites?

Chrome > Menu (3 dots, top right) > Star symbol

As for stock browser, that depends on which model of Galaxy S5 you have. Some carriers replace the stock Samsung browser with their own.
