Root How to boot to CWM

I can boot to CWM by going into rom manager, but is there a way to boot the phone into rom manager, incase a rom screws up and you cant boot the phone?
I have searched but not found the answer yet.

Turn the phone off, press and hold power + vol down until a warning screen pops up. Then, press power two or three more times and you'll be in.

You can also get in through the Android Debug Bridge with the command adb reboot recovery

Also, adb doesn't work at all unless you can get to a certain point of the boot process. If you have a nasty bootloop where your phone is crashing before that point, you need to be able to get into recovery with hardware keys anyway.

The volume down works i was just worried because it was popping up asking for factory reset and that was not what i was wanting to do, but i am happy to know it takes me to recovery instead.
