How to change contact number display?

detdroid

Newbie
Hi guys. How can i change cellphone number display w/o rooting and w/o installing launcher app.
Display is in this format: 090-xxx-xxxx
Wanna change it to: 090x-xxxxxxxx or have the "-" symbol removed.
Thanks in advance.

It's funny cause I have been looking to do the opposite and could not find out how. I wanted the hyphens (-) to be added automatically but in vain. Would you know how to do that? Thanks in advance!

hehehe.. it is the stock on my phone, didn't do anything.
hope somebody would help us..

I did something that regained the hyphens back unintentionally, so maybe it'll help you get rid of them. Menu button>Settings>Display>Animation I choose All Animation and the hyphens are back. Thought it might help you, good luck!

Let me know if it works for you, you know I talked to Samsung technical support (Live Chat) and he did not know what I was talking about, so would be nice to know for sure how this works.

Here is how to switch on/off hyphens in numbers:

To Turn On: Goto Settings--> Locale & Text --> Select Language --> English (US)
To Turn Off: Goto Settings--> Locale & Text --> Select Language --> English (UK)
