Help How to change default browser?

Droixhe

Lurker
Hi,

For my job, I am supposed to show a browser-based presentation, which requires flash, to a couple of clients every day. This presentation is installed entirely on my tablet, so it doesnt require an active internet connection.
Because my laptop runs out of battery to soon and because its just to annoying to drag around all day, i bought myself an asus transformer prime tablet.
Now, after figuring out the default browser doesnt support flash (atleast on my tablet it doesnt), I have downloaded the Opera browser which DOES seem to handle flash pretty well.

However, when i click on my presentation-link, it always opens up in the default browser, and i dont get the option to open it in Opera.

Can anyone tell me how to change my default browser to Opera? It really important for my work and I have already spent hours looking for an answer...

Thanks in advance!

You might want to download and install flash first and see if the default browser now works with flash:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adobe.flashplayer

The second option is to open up a link from within your email app ie Gmail and see what happens, if by default it automatically opens the default browser without any options coming up to view in Opera then you have set the default options on the app.

If so go into settings, apps, all and find the default browser in the list. Now go into its options and scroll down and clear the default options in the app. Now exit and repeat the above and you should be asked what browser to open the link in.

There is a tick box at the bottom to default to whatever browser you choose. But you don't have to tick it if you always what an option to open in either browser.

To set the default browser go to settings then apps.
Go to all and scroll down to the browser you want. (The stock one is called browser).
Go down to launch by default and check the box.
You may have to uncheck the stock onebefore checking the box in Opera.
