How to change default launcher on Huawei Mediapad T3?

I'm trying to set Nova Launcher on my Mum's Huawei Mediapad T3 (10-inch), but can't find the option to do it. The Apps section in Settings no longer has a "Default apps" option (the firmware was updated a couple of weeks ago).
Is there an easy way of changing this?

If it's installed, go to settings, apps, Nova launcher, advanced, and choose Nova as default launcher

you can also just launch nova and it should ask you about changing your default.

Don't know about Mediapad T3, but with some versions of EMUI(Huawei's customised version of Android) you can't change the launcher.
