Help How To Change Password Timing

I currently have a password enabled on my phone, but after roughly 5 seconds after my screen dims out, I have to keep re-entering my password (which is getting very annoying). I don't have any option on extending the time limit after the screen dims. I would like it to wait 5-10 mins before needing to re-enter my password. Is there a way to do that? If it makes a difference, I'm from Ontario, Canada and on the Bell network. I am running UGKG2.

Yes this is annoying.
I use the pattern method which I find is a little easier to do.

I believe the only way of altering the timeout setting is by rooting your device.

Does anyone know, if there is an app that may work around this problem?
