Help How to change write permissions

Newly rooted still on stock ZV5
Downloading a file using atorrent its default save folder is
/mnt/sdcard/downloads.....which apparently is using phone memory.....I want to change it to /storage/external_sd/downloads.....which apparently is located actually on my sd card
When I tried it "Do not have write permissions please change directories"...........what do I need to fix permissions and such.....Thank you

You need to install the sdfix patch. Download from the play store.
Or download it to the default location and move it with the stock file manager.
