Help How to check for bad blocks on Nook Color?

I bought re-certified Nook Color from Overstock.com for $150. I plan to put CM7 on it, and configure it as an Android tablet.

It has been suggested that I check for bad internal blocks. Seems like a good idea, but I don't know how to do that.

BTW: I just bought a class 10 8gb a-data micro sdhc. I have read that some people have problems with the class 10. Any thoughts?

I've never heard that recommendation. There might be an app for that.

Class 10 sdcards are optimized for writing large files sequentially (think camera or video cam use).

Much slower sdcards are optimized for reading small files randomly and work better for an Android device.

SanDisk class 2 and class 4 cards rated the highest when used on a NC (rom on the sdcard) so should be the best option for any Android device (rom on the card or not).
