How to check if my Nexus S is new

Hi guys.
I am going to buy a Nexus S from an online seller tomorrow. Is there any way to check if the phone he is selling is brand new or just a refurbished one?

There is a button combination on most phones that will show if it has been refurbished.

It will take some digging online to find it, and I don't have your device so off the top of my head I don't know it.
