How to check warranty status?

I'm getting ready to list my Note2 for sale so I can get a Note3. I think it has a one year warranty, and I bought it about 7 months ago.

1. How can I check the warranty status of the Note2 so if someone wants to purchase it I can show them the status of the warranty?

If you still have the receipt, you could just give him a copy of your receipt. And yes, it does have 1 year warranty from the date of purchase. The Samsung warranty hotline could also tell you if your device is still under warranty by giving them your serial number on the device.
