How to clear "Recent" items?

The photos are saved in your google photos. Click on your google drive shortcut and then on the left press the 3 line button and select google photos. Delete them from there.

I also had the same problem and cannot solve it by using CM.
I found those troublesome photos in Google Drive's recent tab, even I have deleted them from Google Photos.
Try open your Google Drive and click on "Recent", find those photos and remove them.
It is worked with mine.

Sorry if I'm the only one who has replied just to express my amusement but lmfao.

I, too, had found this sticky situation more amusing than I probably should have!I can't say I have suffered this problem because all of my really close friends still tend to keep their clothes ON around me or in the pics I get.
The ladies trying to be a little more.... well... I could see the need to know this info

more stuff for me to learn--like going to downloads app and deleting then deleting it from messages and from gallery and from pictures because a naked woman who was not my wife would get me in trouble

I am blessed with a wife who made sure I have a naked picture of her on my phone.... as the screensaver! She did it VERY tastefully so her long hair covers enough to leave the imagination yearning

HI guys!

i was very embarrassed when i was writing an email in my tablet (k-9), in front of some family members, when i tap to attach a photo to an email and it went to "Recent", there was some photos of a naked girl that i met (and was not my GF (thats why i got embarrassed).

I deleted those photos days ago, why are they still there as a "recent" items!?

even when i chose something different to "recent", like "images" the thumbnils are still there!

the same happened when i tried to upload a file form another app in my tablet, it showed me recent items and there was the same photos i deleted before..
why are they still appearing me, how can i delete it?

(i have android 4.4.3)

I have Android 7 and the problem still crops up. This is how I located my unwanted "Recent" file.
1. Connected device to PC via a USB connection.
2. Browsed to the device's Internal shared storage\DCIM\Camera folder and found the unwanted file in there.
