Apps How to decommission an app?

Hi all, suppose I want to decommission an app, how would I do that? I know I can unpublish an app, but what does that do to users who previously installed the app and come back in the future to re-install an app?

If I unpublish an app am I effectively removing it from existing customers? Are those my only choices?

If you unpublish an app, it is removed from the Play Store. People who already have the app will keep it until they uninstall it. But other than that, no one new can get the app.

There are various factors you have to keep in mind while decommissioning an app like determine your data owners and key stakeholders, develop and schedule a plan for decommissioning etc
