Android 8.0 also removed the ability to clear all cached app data at once (was at Settings > Storage > Cached data or something to that extent). You can use Settings > Storage > Free up space if you want to do some semi-automated housekeeping but if you're hoping to troubleshoot/resolve a problem by clearing cache you'll have to do it for each app individually.
If you just delete cache for the fun of it then the OS has to actually work harder to recreate all that cached data the next time you launch a given application.
My recommendation would be to just leave it up to Android to manage. It generally knows that it's doing better than you do.
