How to delete or uninstall apps?

I am so new to Android this time around (long story) and have had the phone 2 days. Not sure how to delete or uninstall apps, and to do so as cleanly/entirely as possible. Was wondering too if there is a general maintenance app for the phone that will do things like CCleaner or spybot does for my laptop.

All thoughts most appreciated.

To delete apps you can go to settings>application manager then select the app you want to delete then select uninstall(delete).

Or, On the apps screen, press the menu button then select edit. You can then select the app then select uninstall at the top of the screen.

One note to make, preinstalled apps or system apps cannot be uninstalled / deleted.
