Help How to disable an email account?

First time android user here. Just picked up a GS2 last week after ditching my iphone 3gs. So still trying to adjust and learn the system.

One thing I can't seem to figure out is how to 'disable' an email account. I do not want to delete it (and then have to re-enter all the account set up info). I just want to be able to temporarily remove an account from my e-mail app.

I like to have my email for work turned on during the weekends, but have it disabled during the work week.

With the iphone I could easily activate/deactivate any of my email accounts with a few clicks. Is there an android app i'll need to accomplish this?

try going to settings
accounts and sync
then deselect auto sync.
I did that and I didn't get email for a few days till I figured it out.

Is there a way to remove that email account from my list of accounts? So when I click the "email app" icon ... i won't see it at all?

Why not just install a third-party email tool, like K-9, and set it up for that particular account? Don't open it and you won't see that mail.
