Help How to disable periodic sync of email

I have a couple of POP3 mail accounts set up on my phone. I don't use email on my phone that often, so I would prefer that it doesn't automatically get new email messages. But I can't seem to figure out how to achieve that. In the mail account's settings, I have the "Sync schedule" set to "Manual". Why doesn't that do it?

If I set "Sync Account" to Off, that will definitely do it. But then I can't get any email even when I want to.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Manual works for me, but be aware that when you open up the email app it will check for email at that point. Also make sure there isn't a different schedule set for Peak Schedule (halfway down on the schedule page).

Had the S7 from day 1 and have never been able to figure this out either.

There are several apps/widget apps that will put an icon on your main screen that will allow you to tap and force sync at any particular moment. Keep in mind, no matter, when you do sync the email app will download all emails
Do you have any that you recommend?
