Open stock camera app> click the settings icon > scroll to the right and select "tones" > select "Tone 1"
Using a root file explorer app [I use Root Browser by Jrummy] go to systems>Media>audio>ui. Rename "Camera_Click.ogg" to ".Camera_Click.ogg"
Go to camera app and test. Enjoy

I did this with my "boost force" phone and whatever i did to the file, it wouldn't change anything and show me an error message that the file cannot be changed.

D; I was getting so happy that i finally found a way to turn off that shutter sound -_-
There has to be a solution.

1: You MUST be Rooted.
2: You MIGHT have to change permissions to 644 before modifying the name.
3: just put a number at the beginning or end of the file... doesn't have to be a dot/period/decimal.
