how to disable Sprint optimizer

if you have a Samsung device. Download the app called Package Disabler. Then disable Sprint connection optimizer and that's it.

Is there not an option setting to turn it off? Why does one need a download?

... Let me rephrase that. If you go to Settings, More... Application Manager; slide the top bar to All Applications, you can go to Connections Optimizer and manually turn it off.

No need to download anything.

You can do that, but it just keeps popping back. Look at your running apps. If it wasn't a problem, there is alot of people asking on google how to disable it.

Agreed...also, worse yet, the Sprint Connections Optimizer will force your phone to connect to WiFi hot spots, even if the WiFi is password protected.

On my HTC M8, the only way that I found to eliminate the Sprint Connections Optimizer, was to root the phone, install TiBu and Freeze the app.

One word of caution though, you must unfreeze the app, and all other Sprint apps, before uprooting and taking an OTA update.

I almost completely bricked my HTC M8, because of not doing that.

Sprint Connections Optimizer - settings, mobile data, automatic connections, uncheck it.

Yes?

The app runs but I've yet to see it change the connection state when off.
