Help How to disable the recent apps button

Nick Ebert

Lurker
I have a Galaxy S6 and it has a bit of water damage so the recent apps button acts as if I am always tapping it. This rendered the phone unusable. I got the app "all in one gestures" and used that to disable the button but when all in one gestures is active my touch screen only registers about half of the times I touch it and the phone's performance suffers. Is there a better way to disable the recent apps button?

Do you have access to a Vacuum Pump? They are available in automotive supply stores, Harbor Freight, etc... the cost is negligible compared to a new phone. 15-30 bucks...

remove the battery and place the phone inside a container that you can seal tight, rig up a nipple to the lid, connect a hose between the container and pump.

Pump the vacuum down to 26 inches of Mercury and hold it at that level for 3 hours....

that will remove all of the residual moisture that is causing the button to activate....
and it should restore the button to life again.
