How to disable updates on Note 20 Ultra

Hello everyone,

I would like to disable system updates on my Note 20 Ultra. I enabled Developer Mode but the update service keeps restarting on its own.

The notifications are getting really annoying so I'd like to just get rid of it.

My reason for wanting to do this is that every phone I've owned gets super slow over time and I'd like to avoid that with this phone.

never had any issues with updates and slowing a phone down on my note 10+. you have the ultra so i doubt you will have any issues.

My last phone was a Note 5 and it was so slow at the end that I would have to wait a few seconds when texting for it to catch up to everything I'd typed into it.

Anyway, is there a way for me to do this without rooting the phone?

you can only turn off the automatic security update check. it should be under system update within your phone's settings.....if you really want to go that route. (but i still think that it is not necessary. these new notes are waaaaaaaay different then the note 5).....my note 10+ is a beast at everything which is why i never updated to the note 20.

if your phone is slowing down, you have other issues that may be user related. im running the beta UI on the 5G ultra and its been smooth, as i expect.

and no, in the factory state, you can not totally disable system updates.
