I just downloaded SC 2.8, which should have the EB16 kernel. How do I make sure though? I wanna use the hotspot function, but don't wanna pay verizon anymore than i already do lol

Pull down notification bar - SC version should be listed right near the top left hand side.

What are you talking about on notification bar? The only thing it shows on there is the phone model sch-i500 not the kernel.

I would tell you that you can use setcpu...but I just looked in there and it says that its a froyo kernel but doesn't give much more info like it did with eclair kernels. Some one may be able to look into the other stuff in setcpu and figure it out but I wasn't able to.

pull down the notifications shade thingy for lack of proper terminology. it'll say SC 2.8 on the upper left hand corner
