Help How to "EASILY" find downloaded ringtones etc...?

Hi... one problem I have been having is often times I will download a ringtone or sound file, and then I will look for it and I cannot find it.

Sometimes.... it will automatically be listed with the ringtones but not always. Other times... I will download a sound file from the internet and it will end up with my songs under music player. Still other times... it will find itself in a folder something about EMULATED or something to that effect.

Is there an easier way to do this? Like is there an app where you can have anything you download from the internet, regardless of file type, go into that folder?

I'll even use a program like Zedge and download stuff from there, and yet when I find the Zedge folder in one of my file managers it will be "empty".

Is it a certain type of app that I need or a better file "manager"?

Thank you in advance

MELISSA ;)

If you download using a browser you should be able to set a default download location for that browser via the browser's settings. I've no experience of downloading stuff like that from the Play Store or Zedge.

I guess to find stuff you could use a music player to scan for audio files, then locate it in your catalogue, ask for details, and hence locate where it went to, but that's rather roundabout! I agree it would be better to know where it's going in the first place.

BTW "emulated" in the file path is an example of Android having multiple, redundant ways of addressing the same folder. It does this for backward compatibility with older apps which may have things hard-coded, though the drawback with that is that it doesn't encourage developers to update and hence makes it hard to simplify it in future. So as an example, on my phone:

/sdcard
/storage/sdcard0
/storage/emulated/0

are all different names for the same thing (so /sdcard/Ringtones and /storage/emulated/0/Ringtones are the same folder).
