Help How to exit Google Goggles?

cowana

Newbie
I'm running Google Goggles on my HTC desire.

To exit it, I hit 'back' repeatedly, until it closes. However, if I then plug in and unplug my phone, the battery usage 'since last unplug' shows:

20s since unplugged:
Googles: 86%
Android System: 14%

Why is goggles still running and taking battery, even though I closed it?

I do have a task killer app, but I don't want to use it - I find that it runs down the phone itself. If I run it, it doesn't stop goggles either!

Help!

I would not recommend an automated task-killer either, but when you have an app that is out of control, just kill it.

It makes the app do a "reboot" and that normally solves it.

Menu>settings>applications>Manage applications>goggles [force close]

Task killers, although already not recommended also do not work well on 2.2 anyway.

Hitting the HOME button is easier.

However, if I then plug in and unplug my phone, the battery usage 'since last unplug' shows:

20s since unplugged:
Googles: 86%
Android System: 14%

Remember that the battery usage screen shows percentages only. It's using 86% of the battery that was used in that 20 seconds time. So, in that 20 seconds, if you used 0.000000001% of your battery, then Goggles is using 0.00000000086% of your battery.

In other words, ANY app that is actively running when you plug/unplug will show up very high 20 seconds later.

I'm not convinced you even have a problem yet. What does your battery usage look like an hour later? 10 hours later? Does Goggles continue running for hours after you've stopped using it?

well I just tested this out and my googles exits fine straight after 'back button' press..

one quick question although I can see this is an old thread, so this is more directed at 'smsms' is are you running the most updated version of 'Goggles'? as this may have solved any issues possibly..

also while automated task killers are bad, have you tried running "Autokiller Memory" I think its called (ask dan aka SUroot, he'll know) that might help if you have a 'rouge' app that isn't shutting properly..
