Help How to force stop apps PERMANENTLY?

Registry doesn't need cleaning. Best thing to save disk space is treesize (which is free), you see the folder taking up the most space, and you can follow down (not good for the sectors) to find the massive subfolder, and decide something is full of garbage or a program you don't need. I do this when the hard disk is full and I save about a third of the space man!

- hey OP:

I have edited this. You said "Moist" and "Di*K" when you wrote "The hard disk" you mean also "Drill down" meaning follow down.

I corrected it op. SMH!
ROFL you only just noticed! And I never use drill down, it sounds too American. Almost as bad as "now what you're gonna wanna do next is".
And it would seem the multiquote broke. I couldn't put them both in one post like I did only some hours ago.

I read it a few times last night.

I thought it was sleep that got to me the other day Sunny..

"sounds too American" yeah I am one.

But I'm stopping maybe 30.....
And are you sure that's the right command, it says "uninstall".....
I’ll take a look at it in a bit the command could probably be changed to fit your needs. Might be a few hours before I can reply back, preparing for work.

To force stop an Android app using a command line, you can use the adbtool with the am force-stopcommand followed by the app's package name. For example, adb shell am force-stop com.example.app would force stop the app with the package name com.example.app.

I hope this helps, like I stated earlier I haven’t owned an Android device in a few years due to myself wanting to tinker with it… With my job that wouldn’t be good and would probably flag a security alert.

We definitely can't have a folder take up "the moist space" ☠

the only way without root as far as i know...

F-droid can get you Shizuku and Canta
you will need both, and a wifi connection.

open developers options and go to wireless debugging
turn it on

then tap the actual words 'wireless debugging'
give Shizuku any requested permissions

give Canta permissions as well, including permission to use Shizuku

use Canta to stop the apps you choose
(this us called 'uninstalling for user')
you are the user
the apos are not technically uninstalled from the device, but will not start or run for this user (androids can have multiple user profiles, so this can allow the apps to run or not depending on which user profile you use)

most apps shown on Canta can be described by tapping on the name of the app, and a description of what the app does is provided by GitHub.

CCleaner was the first thing I tried. It's rubbish. It only stops them momentarily then they start again. At least they refunded me the purchase price.

Does anyone know exactly how Android memory management works? I've heard it pushes things out of memory (closes them rather than a swapfile?) - so what happens to something like Ebay sat in the background, not showing as running, which should give me messages? Will it reopen when there's enough RAM again?

Should have asked the AI:

"When an Android device runs out of RAM, it employs several strategies to manage memory and maintain performance:
[....]
Killing Background Processes: Android may terminate background processes or services that are consuming memory. This is done to ensure that the foreground application remains responsive.
[....]
If Android closes a background app to free up RAM for a foreground app, the background app can be restarted later if there is enough RAM available and if the app is designed to be restarted.
[....]
Automatic Restart: While the eBay app itself does not automatically restart in the sense of relaunching the main interface without user interaction, it can resume quickly if it was in a cached state. If the app was fully closed due to memory constraints, you would need to manually reopen it."

Fckuing Opera doesn't like the quoting mechanism on here.

Replying to Milo, yes I've restarted the phone. That does help a bit, but not for long, nothing helps for long. I wish you could plug in extra RAM. A swapfile would make more sense, but that needs rooting. Android needs a major workover.

I've sent a suggestion to Ebay, and also a suggestion to add "something else" as a category for contacting, jesus nobody designs anything right!

On my moto five Underwear five passing, there is a option I can easily turn on more ram if I needed.
