My Galaxy S4 (rooted; stock KitKat 4.4.2) had a problem with spontaneous reboots, and none of the suggested solutions I found from Googling had fixed it. So I started uninstalling apps I thought I didn't need (some of the 'bloatware' that comes with KitKat). But after uninstalling lots of stuff, I found that my customised lock-screen 'personal message' had disappeared, along with the clock and date.
When I went into the lockscreen settings, I could still select between 'clock' and 'personal message', but the latter did not display any message or time/date. 'Clock' would display the clock, but nothing more.
Having selected 'personal message', I could then get into the widget edit mode and my personal message would be displayed in the edit screen (though its font didn't change with the font selections), but no matter what I did in the edit screen, the message and clock/date would not appear in the lock-screen.
What have I broken, and how do I fix it? Any help would be much appreciated. I've Googled extensively, but haven't found any reference to this specific problem.
