Help How to get different sounds for notifications

How can I import some of my own sounds and use them for notifications like some of the sounds on my sd card.

there should be a folder on the root of your sd card for media or notifications, look for that, if not make a folder in root called notifications.....

ETA: just looked at it, looks like ringtones are in

/media/ringtones

so i would add

/media/notifications

see if that works

How do I add those directories, is it done on the phone?

nah plug the phone into your pc with your data cable

drag down your notification window and click the usb icon and touch mount

then on windows explorer you can open your sd car and make folders and add files, etc.

make sure before you unplug the cable to go back to notifications and unmount the card by clicking the usb icon again.

you can use ringdroid. download it from the market, its free. and its real easy to use. i'm sure if you play with it for a minute, you'll figure it out.
