Apps How to get events/notification from server

Hi all,

I want to develop an application which receives events/notification from server whenever there is any change in the server database. How to make it possible?

I haven't done that but from reading the docs I think it is possible through a service, see Service | Android Developers

You could try to open a connection to your server, keeping it open and exchange messages whenever required this way.
