Help How to get red circled notifications?

I was wondering if a third party application was available to show red circled notifications above the app icon(like iphone) on my samsung galaxy s i9000 since an app called 'samsung apps' has the update alerts shown that way. Please help me out with thia asap

Samsung Apps is the built-in Samsung apps market for android. You can disable the notification by opening the Samsung apps application and going to menu, settings and change the notification to off.

I want the same kind of notifications for my email and I'ms. How do I get that? I don't want to disable it.

Yes its a disgrace. People should answer you right away. Its not like they have a life or anything.

You email and IM should show you notification by default. Each app has its own icon you can't change the type of icon the app uses.
