How to get rid of the adds and back up help

Got my phone back last Saturday after the boot loop repair. Now after I swipe the screen saver to open I have another screen with an add and a lock there and I have to click the lock to get to the home screen. Is there a way to get rid of this? Also I loaded my LG back up file and all got restored to just the way it was then Sunday another phone update came through and now when I go to make a new LG back up file after it's done it says some files could not be backed up and gives me the choice to retry or push done and save the file as it is. What is going on with LG back up? Mary

An advert on the lock screen? Sounds like you must have a 3rd party lockscreen app, stock lockscreen wouldn't have ads on.
Doe's it say what things didn't get backed up? I never have very much luck with the manufacturers backup tools for some reason, what is it that you want to back up? If its SMS I use SMS Backup+ this is very good, backs it up to your email and can auto backup. If it's photos I use Google Photos to auto sync with my Google account, you get unlimited storage at standard quality.
That's all I use as I am rooted and everything else gets backed up in Titanium Backup, but root is needed for that.

I didn't install any 3rd party app. Phone never had these adds before I sent It in for repair. Will post a screen shot later. I have always used LG back up and up until now never had a problem. It doesn't say what didn't back up. I like the LG back up because it does settings and all in one nice file. Could never find another back up like that. Mary

OK yea, screenshot might help but as we say, it won't be a standard LG lockscreen if it has an advert, you must have unknowingly installed (or an app makers the like of GO or Cheetah installing malware). Have a look in settings>apps and just scan through apps in there for anything you don't recognise and check back if that could be the culprit.
With regards to the backup, perhaps try backing up one thing at a time, maybe it is too much data for backup tool to handle in one batch, or if not we can then see what is failing to backup. I know it's more tedious but I'm out of ideas without more information.

Ok I haven't loaded anything new as I used the back up file after I got the phone back so Phone is exactly the way it was before it went for repair. I think I didn't have this screen when I got it back then the next day the white screen came telling me about an update do I did that them after this screen started pooping out. I am not seeing anything I don't recognize in settings. Maybe I will run the malewarebytes app and see if that might remove it. Will deal with the back up when I get home. Mary

Did a factory reset and that got rid of the adds. I have no clue where they came from to begin with. LG back up still not working as it won't back up everything. Used LG back up on my phones for a long time and never had this happen so will contact LG as I rely on having settings and all backed up. I had to reinstall all my apps as they didn't back up and neither did my downloads. Now I lost all my candy crush stuff even though I connect to Facebook. Have plenty of free space on the memory card so that's not the problem. Mary

Figured it out. In back up under LG apps quick remote, keyboard, smart notice and weather service are corrupting the back up file. Uncheck those and back up works fine. Don't care about those so doesn't matter. Mary
