Help How to get rid of this icon?

The icon in the status bar, next to the signal strength, appears when Data Transfer is not on. It has a bright red cross.
This icon in the status bar is really irritating. how can i remove it without turning on my Data Transfer. I've noticed in other phones this icon is not present.

Its better to use the app "POWER MAX" , power max is also one of the battery saving app, when u activate the power max , it just off ur gprs data transfer and that will help u for not getting that red cross

It is a standard icon and i dont think it can be removed!!
