how to get ROM files?

i just got a Samsung Infuse 4g and i want to play GBA advance game and other emulators but every time i try to download a game to play for my emulator it says the download was unsuccessful and a message appears saying that it does not support this format. is there a way for me to download these ROM files?(Btw my phone model is SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 if it matters.)

I believe the failed downloads are because your browser simply doesn't support the file format as you've said.. you could try to use a different browser like dolphin and dolphin jetpack. These are found free on the Google Playstore.

What is the file extension on these Emulator files? I.E. what is the last 3 letters? .zip? .bin? etc.
