Help How to have screen turn off in Dock?

When I dock my Bionic, the screen stays on so long as it is docked. I don't like this because I don't ever use my phone in the dock, so it's a waste of power/screen.

I know that if I hit the lock button, it turns off the screen, but it's gotten annoying to have to do that every time.

Is there anyway to set it so that the screen doesn't turn and stay on while docked?

I'm assuming that you use ht dock simply for charging then.

Have you looked at Settings --> Applications --> Development --> Stay awake? If that is enabled, then when it is charging it is always one.

If this is not what you want or is already disabled, then when you put it in the dock, you need to go to Settings --> Sleep Timer and change it from Off to 20/40.

Your best option, though, is to use https://market.android.com/details?...51bGwsMSwxLDEsImJvaGxvb2wubmV0LmF1dG9kb2NrIl0. because it has a setting built in to disable keeping the display on.

Thanks for your reply!

Disabling the "Stay Awake" option while the phone is in the dock works, but unfortunately, every time I take the phone off the dock and put it back on, the option automatically enables itself again.

Is there anything else I could try?

it shouldn't be doing that - do you have any dock helper apps, like the fake dock app that puts the phone in dock mode even when it is not really in a dock?
