How To: How to remove Verizon Visual Voice mail app

I would like help with this also. Just got my hands on Google Voice and no longer need or want this app. Please help us.

There are a few threads going right now about removing preinstalled apps. The general consensus so far is that you cannot. The apps are embedded into the operating system. There are several programs available for download that allow you to see these apps in the uninstall menu, but when you try to delete them you get an "unsuccessful" message.

It's unfortunate. I'd delete half the apps that came with it.

Thanks for the update...I knew Verizon could find a way to screw this up!

lol. I hear ya on that one! I don't think it was VZ though... Pretty sure this was google. Someone should pop over to the HTC Eris section and ask them about it. :D

I understand that you don't have to use this apps, but the point is we don't have control of our on devices. If I want to uninstall something I should be able to, that's all I'm saying.

I don't really see this as a screw up unless it's stopping you from accomplishing anything. You don't have to use VV or any of the included apps.

For me, it is a case of not wanting the icons in my app list. Sure, they can be removed from the home screen, but they still clutter up the app list. Facebook, Messaging, analog clock, etc. All programs I don't need or use.
