How to I use my PC to do my text messaging for the phone?

I recently saw something pop up on my phone about using my google account on the PC to do text messaging, instead of having to use the phone. Now I can't remember what it was or find it again, can anyone help?

for those who did not find it.....on your browser in your pc go to google messages

Do you use Windows, OP? There's Phone Link/Your Phone that can not only do the messaging and calling via PC (similar to Mac's having 'continuity') but also can mirror the phone's screen and/or apps to use them via PC if you like.
