I came across a better camera for the Kyocera Rise.
The camera should work regardless if you have a rooted device or not.
As usual I am not responsible for any damage you may cause to your device. Any changes you make will be YOUR complete responsibility.
I recommend rooting your device first to create a back-up just in case. Though you may never need the back-up, the one day you do not back-up your device with a Back-Up app will be the one day you need it!
The process for the new camera is very simple...
1. Download the camera-4.1.2.apk from camera-4.1.2.apk
2. Navigate to your sdcard using ES File explorer or your favorite file explorer.
3. Once you locate the camera-4.1.2.apk click on it to install the apk.
4. You will receive a pop-up stating "you will replace an existing app" (camera), click yes to continue.
5. You will then see a screen, asking you to install the app. Click install.
6. Then you are done!

You will notice you have two icons labelled "Camera" in the apps menu.
Click on the second "Camera" icon to use the new Camera features.
The new features give you more control over the pictures you take.
Which will allow you to take better pictures!

Once the file is installed you will also have a new gallery.
Go to your apps menu then click on Gallery to see the difference.

For now the Camera button on the side of the phone is not attached to the new Camera you installed. This change will come at a later date.
Summary: This is the camera you will find on Android v4.1.2/Jellybean. But it will work for your Rise v4.0.4.
